It is so cold in Vienna. It has also been snowing a lot, so I decided to do some snowflake nails. I used some of my new essence nail polish. This one is called Stairway to Heaven. Then, I used BM14 and Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes for the snowflake stamp. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite.

Day 24: Nails Inspired By A BOOK

Today's nails are inspired by The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and a little by The Girl Who Played With Fire. The thumb is a snowy, wintry scene inspired by the brutal cold on Hedestad. The pointer finger is a dragon. The middle finger is a framed flower...inspired by the flowers Henrik received every year. The ring finger is fire. The pinky finger is the Swedish flag, since the book takes place in Sweden.

To do the thumb, I started with two coats of Essie - Dive Bar. Then, I sponged on Pure Ice - Super Star. Finally, I used a q-tip to dot on some falling snow.

For the dragon on the pointer finger, I followed this tutorial. I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Mellow Yellow. I used a fine-tip brush and Pure Ice - Black Rage for the dragon and Sally Hansen InstaDri - Rapid Red for the dragon's eye.

For this nail, I started with two coats of Essie - Jazz. Then, I stamped on the flower using BM06 and Sally Hansen InstaDri - Pronto Purple. I used a fine-tip brush and Pure Ice - Black Rage to draw the frame around the flower.

For the flames, I started with two coats of Wet n Wild Wild Shine - Sunny Side Up. Then, I tried using flame stamps on BM07 and BM08 using Pure Ice - Black Rage. They didn't stamp very well, but I used the stamp as a guide for the rest of the design. I used a fine-tip brush with Sunny Side Up, Mellow Yellow, Rapid Red, and Super Star to paint on the flames.

For the Swedish flag, I started with two coats of Essie - Mezmerised. Then, I used a fine-tip brush and Mellow Yellow to paint on the stripes.

Day 21: Nails Inspired By A COLOR

I was originally going to do shades of blue nails, inspired by the color blue. But then I saw on another nail blog that she interpreted "Inspired by a Color" as inspired by the name of a nail polish. So, my nails are inspired by the Sally Hansen shade, Black Heart. I'm a big fan of these nails.

I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails - Black Heart. Once that was dry, I used Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes with BM08 for the larger heart pattern and with BM03 for the 3 little hearts pattern.

Heart Stamp

I did these on Thursday night, because I visited my friend Lindsay at Indiana University over the weekend, and these nails are sort of IU school colors. I started with two coats of Sephora nail polish that I got 7 years ago, and, as far as I can tell, it does not have a name. Then, I used Konad Special Nail Polish in silver with BM02 for the heart stamp.

Day 15: DELICATE PRINT Nails

Ugh, so first of all...I don't like delicate prints. Secondly, none of my attempts at delicate print nails turned out very well. The lacy blue tips below were my third attempt at that pattern. I was having a lot of trouble positioning the stamp right on the tip of my nails..does anyone else have this problem while nail stamping?? Anyways, after my third attempt with that stamp, I gave up. But, here's a picture of attempt 3:

I used two coats of Essie - Waltz for the base. Then, I used Sally Hansen Insta Dri - Co-Bolt Blue with BM18 for the tips.

Below was my next attempt at delicate print nails. Here, I used two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pacific Blue for the base. Then, I used Pure Ice - Super Star with BM 21 for the pattern.

Blue and Gray Circular Nails

More nail stamping! I'm going to Chicago tomorrow and I just wanted something cool and simple..and this is what I came up with. First, I applied two coats of love & beauty - light grey (got this from Forever 21). Then, I made the design using Essie - Mezmerised and BM02! This was so simple and took no time at all!

Day 8: METALLIC Nails

I got my first ever nail stamps in the mail today!! I was so excited to get them! It is the 21 piece set from Bundle Monster. I obviously had to use them as soon as possible, so I combined them with my Day 8 task, metallic nails. Here is my first go at it:

I used Milani - Ms. Milani for the base. Then, I used BM19 and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails - Black Heart for the circular design. These don't look too bad in the picture, but I wasn't satisfied with them, so I did another one for today's challenge.

This star and arrow pattern is one of the main reasons I wanted to get some nail stamping material...I saw it on someone else's blog and just loved it. Here I have Pure Ice - Silver Mercedes as the base and Pure Ice - Black Rage used with BM20 for the star and arrow pattern.

Overall, I'm just really excited to do more nail stamping!
