Day 9: RAINBOW Nails

Woohoo rainbow day! These were super fun. First, I started with two coats of Essie - Borrowed & Blue. Then, I painted on the stripes with a fine tip brush leaving a small amount on the tip for the clouds. The colors are Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Rapid Red, Wet n Wild Wild Shine - Sunny Side Up, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Mellow Yellow, Wet n Wild Fast Dry - SaGreena the Teenage Witch, Essie - Mezmerised, and Essie - Sexy Divide. Then, I poured some Pure Ice - Super Star onto a paper towel, dipped a q-tip in it, and dabbed the q-tip on the nails to make the clouds.

Day 5: BLUE Nails

Blue is far and away my favorite color, so I had a lot of blues to choose from for day #5 of the challenge. Because I have so many, it also made it difficult to choose just one, so even though I did this design before, I chose it for this challenge since I would be able to incorporate 3 different blues. Like I said before, these were inspired by nailside.

I started with 2 coats of Essie - Coat Azure.

Then, I painted on three lines of varying lengths on each nail using Essie - Borrowed & Blue.

Finally, I did that again with Sally Hansen - Blue Icing.

Blue Waves

I got this idea from Nailside.tumblr.com, because she has a ton of nails with this pattern, and she made it sound easy enough to do! I didn't believe these would really be as easy to do as they sounded, but they were!


First, I applied one coat of Essie - Go Overboard. Then after that was dry, I just painted on three lines of Essie - Mint Candy Apple in decreasing lengths, and they basically created the rounded edges on their own. After that was dry, I did the same (except shorter) with Essie - Mezmerised..and that's it!
